FIELD: mining industry; applicable in production of commercial fuel and briquettes by mobile units and complexes at the site of opencast mining. SUBSTANCE: method of opencast mining of coal deposits includes excavation, transferring and loading of coal directly from the excavator, in the process of its continuous operation, onto mobile grading unit installed directly in the stope where coal is sized into fractions. A part of obtained commercial coal is loaded by fraction into containers, and the other part of the fraction determined by the Customer and coal fines are supplied to mobile packaging and briquetting complex located also in the stope, where coal is packaged into fuel packages and coal fines are briquetted, loaded into containers which are transferred by mobile crane onto flat cars and directed to storage in the region of mining and use, where they are kept in containers before their use.
