FIELD: laying underwater pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: unloading pontoon is provided with unit for connection with pipe line 4. Connection unit consists if system of articulated levers with drive tracks 11 and 12 at the ends; tracks 11 and 12 are provided with flexible member for gripping pipe line 4. Ends of levers are connected in pairs and are fastened with ropes wound on winch drum. Pontoon is positioned at pipe line 4 lowered from stringer of barge; connection unit is raised to pontoon bottom. Winch lowers unit till pipe line 4 is gripped by members 13 and 14 and moving tracks 11 and 12 over pipe line 4 connection unit is positioned at preset depth, thus providing for rated sagging of pipe line 4.
