FIELD: nondestructive tests of nuclear reactor fuel elements by radiometric method with cladding made in the form of three-layer tubes of different configuration. SUBSTANCE: cladding thickness is measured by using reverse beta-radiation method. Device has guides with carriage, clamp for holding fuel element, fuel element drive, and measuring transducer. The latter has small-sized beta-radiation source and scintillation detector connected to recording equipment. Detector is, essentially, eulitine monocrystal with optical filter at output. Eulitine monocrystal is shaped as truncated cone with spherical end coated with aluminium layer. EFFECT: facilitated inspection procedure. 2 cl, 2 dwg
