FIELD: machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: namely metal cutting tools for cutting gear wheels; toothed racks 2 with cone shoulders 3 are mounted on outer surface cylindrical surface of body 1 of hobbing cutter in such a way that their lateral sides are in mutual contact. End covers 4 with screws 5 turned into rack ends are placed on cone shoulders 3. Reliable axial fixation of racks, close mutual contact of their lateral sides and clearance-free fit of hobbing cutter on machine tool mandrel are provided due to using body 1 in the form of elastically deformable in radial direction thin-wall sleeve whose height is less than length of racks. Each rack includes recess 9. Combination of all recesses provides embedded mounting place for body 1. Inner diameter of body-sleeve exceeds diameter of fit opening of hobbing cutter formed by arc-shaped bases 8 of racks 2. Rack shoulders and end covers have fit cones. End covers are mounted with possibility of mutual motion one relative to another along said shoulders. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 4 dwg
