METHOD FOR ERECTION OF ICE PLATFORM ON GROUND Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: ice platforms erected on ground can be used for installation of oil drilling and production setups. Erection of ice platform is started with fencing of ground site of required dimensions with protective boarding, then snow is removed or compacted on selected ground site, surface of selected site is covered with flexible, water- proofing material of high tensile strength, and then ice is built up on it. After completing work on platform and its partial thawing, all waste material accumulated on platform is removed. Simultaneously with building-up of platform ice body, ice tubes are being built by way of freezing water on walls of flexible hoses when cold air is pumped through them. Ice tubes are used for building up of protective boarding and also as passages in platform ice body for passing cold carrier if necessity arises to strengthen ice platform and to prolong its service life.
