FIELD: microbiology, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes the strain Klebsiella pneumoniae GISK N 233 for determination of hemolytic activity in enterobacteria. Strain shows stable capability to produce α- - and β--hemolysins causing lysis of ram and rabbit erythrocytes. Hemolytic activity is determined by strain sowing on the nutrient medium containing ram and rabbit erythrocytes followed by incubation at 36-38 C for 12-24 h. Hemolysins production is determined by the presence of lysis zones. EFFECT: bacterial strain indicated above, improved method of hemolysins assay. 1 tbl
