FIELD: study of materials with use of ultrasonic oscillations, quality inspection of cylindrical billets. SUBSTANCE: set for ultrasonic test of cylindrical billets has immersion bath, cross-piece with piezoelectric converters, flaw detection and recording equipment and control system. Set is fitted with guides, carriage with drive and mechanism reading angular coordinates and gear for vertical movement of billet. Immersion bath has holes and gear for vertical movement of billet is manufactured in the form of horizontal prism. Supports for rotation of billets in immersion bath are installed stationary. EFFECT: increased precision in location of defects in billets due to determination of angular coordinates, reduced time of search and examination of defects if they are corroborated. 2 dwg
