FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes hot rolling of steel containing (in wt %): silicon, 2.8-3.2; manganese, 0.1-0.3; copper, 0.1-0.7; and aluminium, 0.010-0.30, double cold rolling with 50-76% squeezing in the second step, intermediate decarbonizing baking, and final high-temperature annealing. Improvement of electromagnetic properties of anisotropic electrical steel 0.18-0.35 mm thick is achieved by choosing weight portion of aluminium in steel in dependence on final steel thickness derived from equation: Al = [(0.042-0.082*h)±0.003] wt % and increasing squeezing in the second rolling step as weight portion of aluminium increases. When this part is 0.010-0.014%, squeezing is 50-63%, and with 0.015-0.030% aluminium, 64-76%. EFFECT: improved electromagnetic properties of product. 3 cl, 1 tbl
