SCALE BREAKER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: equipment of rolling mills. SUBSTANCE: scale breaker includes struts connected by traverse bar in their upper portion, upper and lower feeding rollers with chocks mounted in cartridges and mechanism for mounting upper roller. Said mechanism is in the form of pneumatic cylinders mounted on traverse bar and connected with upper roller. Said chocks have blind and through covers. Cartridges are mutually connected by sheet guards having ports. Rollers have annular turnings on their terminal portions and annular grooves on their ends. Protective half-circle casings with inner semiflanges are secured to upper portion of chocks of upper roller between said struts. Sheet deflecting members are secured to said sheet guards, said members embrace rollers along their annular turnings in such a way that semiflanges of protective casings are joined with sheet deflecting members and flanges of though type covers are placed in annular grooves of rollers. EFFECT: improved design providing increased service life of rollers and their bearing units. 4 dwg
