HATCH COVER CRACKING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device for cracking cover 1 of submersible vehicle is mounted on coaming 2 within coaming flat 3 and coaming flat 4 of rescue ship; it contains threaded trapezoidal pin which is hinged on brackets 6 fixed on coaming 2. Pin has square tail-piece in its upper portion which is used for connecting the head of wrench; from below, pin is mounted in insert-hinge which makes it possible to perform rotary motion relative to housing and motion relative to horizontal axis for locking it in working and travel positions. Pin is locked in insert-hinge against axial displacement by means of washer, nut and lock nut. Nut-hinge fitted in threaded portion of pin moves up and down during rotation of pin. Brackets 19 are mounted in pairs on cover 1; brackets for securing the pin in working and travel positions by means of clamps are mounted on coaming flat. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 dwg
