FIELD: carbon materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to producing conducting carbon black used in manufacture of chemical current sources. Combustion of fuel with air involves feeding axial hydrocarbon material stream and two coaxial oxygen-containing gas streams. Raw material is thermally decomposed in combustion products to form carbon black-gas stock, which is then heated at 1450-1550 C for 0.2 to 0.5 s and cooled to 800-1100 C by water. Surface of carbon black is activated for 0.1 to 0.5 s and quenched to 600-700 C, after which carbon black is separated from gas products. EFFECT: increased adsorption capacity of carbon black. 1 dwg, 2 tbl
