FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: according to method, ice is accumulated in given zone of water area. For this purpose, ice breaker is used for cutting channel in ice cover so that channel is located primarily over normal to vector of compression of this ice cover. After accumulation of ice in the form of ridge of hummock during natural compression of ice cover, subsequent channel is cut so that it is located in relation to compression vector at frontal side of formed hummock ridge primarily at distance of 0.1-0.3 cable's length from hummock ridge. Cutting of channels is repeated in conditions of ice cover compression until formed ridge of hummock is finally built up. EFFECT: high efficiency. 1 cl, 1 dwg
