FIELD: ice formations combating.
SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at combating hummocky ice formations. A method is proposed for the destruction of hummocks of the ice cover, based on the location of laser installations on the icebreaker, loading by the icebreaker, focusing laser radiation on the ice cover, while focusing the radiation on parts of the hummock: the sail and the consolidated layer of the hummock of the ice field, focusing radiation heats gases on the spectral absorption lines, enclosed inside the bubbles and cavities of the hummock ice crystal structure, in the frequency-pulse radiation mode, the gases are heated in local sections-sails, and in the continuous mode - the consolidated layer until the hummock ice crystal structure is broken into fractions, the fractions of the destroyed ice crystalline structure are loaded by an icebreaker complete destruction of hummocks.
EFFECT: use of the proposed method will make it possible to overcome a thicker ice cover, increase the speed of escorting ships and, ultimately, extend the navigation time not only on the seas, but also on navigable rivers and lakes, as well as ensure the safe operation of offshore business facilities.
