TURBO-PUMP UNIT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of pumps for liquid-propellant rocket engines. SUBSTANCE: turbo-pump unit has housing of pump, case of turbine made in form of multilayer envelope with fins, intermediate case of turbine, housings of pump and turbine bearing supports, spring-loaded rotor, axial force unloading unit and limiting supports engageable with outer ends of bearing supports. Spring-loaded rotor is mounted on rolling-contact bearings through elastodampening members. Turbine bearing support housing is rigidly mounted in intermediate case connected movably with inner envelope of turbine case in radial direction. Stop in housing of turbine bearing support is movable in axial direction; it is made in form of flexible member and bush with axial motion limiter on side of bearing. Flexible member may be made in form of twin plate springs engageable over minor diameter. Intermediate case may be connected with main case of turbine through ring. Bush may be centered in case over external spherical surface. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 4 cl, 2 dwg
