FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: monophase direct current converter relates to electrical engineering and is meant for an alternating current electric stock with smooth voltage control. The monophase direct current converter has a transformer with three secondary windings, reversible converter with at least four semiconductor diode arms, smoothing inductor and a motor. The semiconductor diode arms are combined into an anode and cathode group of the reversible converter. Each semiconductor diode arm comprises n branches, and each branch comprises a single thyristor and m-1 diodes. The primary winding of the transformer is connected to an alternating current mains supply, and terminals of its secondary winding are connected to common connection points of anodes of the cathode group and cathodes of the anode group. The smoothing inductor and the motor connected in series to it are connected to terminals of the anode and cathode groups of the reversible converter.
EFFECT: increase in cos φ, and, consequently, power factor kp of the converter to 0,92 due to reduction of the minimum thyristor opening angle α0 while maintaining high voltage across the motor.
