FIELD: plasma engineering; plasma accelerators for space engineering, research studies, and industry. SUBSTANCE: accelerator has annular anode 1 with anode cavity 2, magnetic core 3, magnetizing coils 4, and pole pieces 5 with annular interpole gap, external and internal annular cathodes 6 and 7, respectively, compensating cathode 8, power supply 9, positive-gradient magnetic field shaper 10 that may be formed by walls of ferromagnetic anode 1. Output edges of anode 1 are provided with nonmagnetic packings 11 whose outer surface follows shape of magnetic field line of force tangential to output edges of cathode. Anode 1 communicates with gaseous working medium supply system through holes 12. EFFECT: improved service life of accelerator due to reduced wear of gas-discharge chamber walls. 19 cl, 7 dwg
