PLANETARY CENTRIFUGE FOR COUNTER-CURRENT CHROMATOGRAPHY Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2084263 C1

FIELD: equipment hor high-speed counter-current chromatography; analytical chemistry for semi-preparative and analytical separation of organic, bioorganic and inorganic compounds close by properties. SUBSTANCE: planetary centrifuge has housing where the following components are arranged: hollow shaft engageable with engine, carrier disc fitted on shaft, chromatographic separation unit secured on axles mounted rotatably on carrier disc and connected with gear train; centrifuge is also provided with balancing system, swivel support and relief damper; balancing system is made in the form of upright mounted coaxially inside shaft on base of housing in spherical support and hinge suspension mounted on upper end of upright and rigidly connected with shaft; rotor of engine is mounted coaxially on outer side of shaft; stator is secured on base of housing by means of flexible member; gear train is engageable with base of housing which is secured on support; relief damper is made in the form of bracket with profiled groove rigidly connected with upright for turn about it; groove is engageable with base of housing through flexible member; chromatographic separation unit contains n drums secured on axles coaxially relative to one another, n tubes wound on drums and 2n solution supply and discharge mains connected with tubes both in series and in parallel; n is even number. EFFECT: extended functional capabilities due to possibility of performing several independent separation processes simultaneously; enhanced reliability and efficiency of separation of samples due to reduction of vibration at simultaneous of rotational speed and installation of centrifuge at any angle relative to horizontal plane without disassembly. 2 cl, 3 dwg
