FIELD: purifying and decontamination of water, or production of detergents and disinfectants. SUBSTANCE: the device has on electrochemical cell made of coaxially aligned tubular and internal electrodes, tubular ceramic diaphragm, catalytic chamber; the catalytic chamber is installed inside the internal tubular electrode; the electrochemical cell is installed in stepped casings - the lower and upper ones - furnished with flexible sealing gaskets and cavities; the upper casing is furnished with an outlet pipe connection, and the lower casing- with two inlet pipe connections. The device has covers of dielectric material made with sealing combs, hole for discharge of water and a groove for axial fixing. The device also has an agitating mechanism made in the form of die sleeves with grooves at angle of 45 deg. towards the flow and installed in the electrode chambers with a space of 30 to 50 mm. With the aim of purifying of potable water the geometric dimensions of the cell satisfy ratio , where Sk and Sa - cross-section areas of the cathode and anode chambers, respectively; for removal of ions of heavy metal a chamber with cationic exchangers is installed between the anode and chambers of the electrochemical cell.
