FIELD: microbiological industry, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: method involves refining the molasses nutrient medium from excess of elements exhibiting the negative effect on citric acid biosynthesis (iron, manganese and calcium excess). To remove these elements molasses is diluted with water and solution is passed through the column filled with the grain filtering material - clinoptilolite. Filtered off solution is subjected for sterilization and after pH value correction used for fermentation at citric acid production. Fungus Aspergillus niger is used for fermentation.
