SUBSTANCE: microwave imager has series-connected microwave oscillator first electronic switch 2, directional coupler 3, up or down frequency converting unit 4, circulator 5, down or up frequency converting unit 6, second electronic switch 7, receiving unit 8, control unit 9, echo signal spectrum analyzer 10, processing and display unit 11, electrically controlled attenuator 12, control pulse unit 13, frequency modulation law shaping unit 14, antenna unit 15 provided with X-Y electronic-and-mechanical current-coordinate meter 16 mounted on same carrying base 17 as antenna unit 15. EFFECT: provision for auto interactive running with coordinate locking to base points of analyzed surface and detection of nonuniformities in various solid media having different humidities of building material; high accuracy and resolution of inspection, improved safety of personnel. 7 cl, 8 dwg
