FIELD: instrumentation, nondestructive tasting. SUBSTANCE: pulses of lateral ultrasonic vibrations are fed through conical surface of central hole in article. Article or converter are rotated in this case given that contact fluid is supplied. Pulses are fed at angle with generator of cone of article with allowance for α=π/2-q/2-arctg[D/2-h/L], where q is angle of cone of central hole; D is diameter of article; h is shortest distance between axis of article in region of hole and point of input of ultrasound; L is projection of radiation vector on to axis and with turn relative to plane passing through axis of central hole and point of input of ultrasonic vibrations from 5 to 30 deg. Echoes of ultrasonic vibrations reflected by defect and rear wall of pressed-on part are received in process of rotation. EFFECT: increased accuracy of method thanks to decrease of noises from rear walls of parts pressed-on tested articles. 1 dwg
