FIELD: instrumentation, nondestructive testing of articles. SUBSTANCE: pulses of ultrasonic oscillations are injected with the aid of converter through conical surface of central hole in sequence by several radiators at various angles from 37 up to 70 deg into article with reference to generatrix of surface of cone by directing them on to various adjacent mutually overlapping zones of article. Injection angle depends on configuration of article and on distance of test zone and is determined by formula α = π/2-arctg[D/2-h/L-q/2], where g is angle of cone of central hole of article; D is diameter of article; H is shortest distance between axis of article in area of central hole and point of injection of ultrasound; L is projection of radiation vector on axis. EFFECT: enhanced informativity of method thanks to expansion of test zone and provision for continuity of test over entire volume, increased accuracy due to decrease of noises formed by transformation of longitudinal ultrasonic waves to lateral ones. 2 dwg
