FIELD: metallurgy, more particularly ship building and other industries, manufacture of cast components of intricate configuration used in sea water and at low temperatures under considerable static and cyclic loads. SUBSTANCE: cast construction ferrite-perlite steel comprises (wt%): 0.10- 0.20 carbon; 0.12-0.40 silicon; 0.6-0.8 manganese; 0.8- 1.2 nickel; 0.6-0.9 copper; 0.15-0.20 molybdenum; 0.002- 0.01 cerium; 0.04-0.3 chromium; and the iron balance. EFFECT: improved viscosity and plasticity, greater crack resistance when castings become hardened and greater resistance to corrosion cracking when under strain. 1 tbl
