FIELD: treatment of a natural bast fiber material.

SUBSTANCE: the method of a primary treatment of a bast fiber material provides for formation of a layer, pressing, two-sided scutching and consequent pneumatic removal of the scutching waste. At scutching they form a closed limited air space with direction of the air streams from technological slots used for provision of the treated material passing to a zone of removal of the scutching waste and making the zone of removal of the scutching waste closer to the zone of their formation. At that an amount of the removed air at the starting period of scutching exceeds the amount of the removed air in the final period o of the scutching process. The device for a primary treatment of the bast fiber material contains a conveyor, double scutching barrels with conical and cylindrical parts. Each scutching section has a fencing casing coinciding by the form with a trajectory of the beating knives of scutching barrels. At that along the sphere of scutching a receiving hopper is installed, the width of the upper part of which is less than inter-axle space of the scutching barrels, and the lower part of the hopper has the variable width decreasing along the course of the material treatment. Effect: increased productivity of the process of the bast fiber material treatment.
