FIELD: measurement of flow rates of water, solutions of salts, alkali, acids, molten metals, etc. SUBSTANCE: vortex flowmeter - liquid meter has pipe-line made of nonmagnetic material with. streamlined body which axis is perpendicular to axis of pipe-line, source of magnetic field, sensitive element in the form of two electrodes of electric contact or capacitive type. At least one electrode is located in region of application of magnetic field. Vortex flowmeter also has signal processing unit. Source of magnetic field is manufactured in the form of two-pole magnet which poles are arranged in series along line of crossing of outer surface of pipe with plane of longitudinal axes of pipe-line and streamlined body. Electrodes are positioned between poles of magnet on wall of pipe or close to its internal surface on line parallel to longitudinal axis of pipe.
