FIELD: measurement of oxygen content in exhaust gases of internal-combustion engine. SUBSTANCE: oxygen sensor has sensor case, packing ring, sensing element bulb with external annular flange, contact member, and bushing, all arranged in tandem in case bore. Novelty is that part of case bore is threaded and receives threaded bushing press-fitted to insulating bushing with desired force to ensure tight case-to-bulb joint. Longitudinal slot is made on external cylindrical surface of insulating bushing to receive case tooth. Bulb flange end is flat. Sensor assembly process is characterized in that after insulating bushing is installed in case, tooth is made of case material and enters longitudinal slot of mentioned bushing whereupon threaded bushing is driven into threaded bore of case with specified force.
