FIELD: measurements of high DC voltage by means of resistive voltage divider. SUBSTANCE: divider is certified against standard measuring instrument (standard divider, kilometer, etc.) up to part of rated voltage of divider determined by that of standard measuring instrument not lower than 25% of rated voltage of certified divider; then systematic instrumental error of certification is calculated, and current-voltage characteristic of high-voltage side of divider is taken first by means of standard measuring instrument up to part of divider rated voltage UAV=F(I), then by means of measuring sphere gap up to rated voltage of divider Usph= f(I); coefficient of linear regression of dependence UHV= f(I) and root-mean-square deviations S1 and S2 are then found. Comparing S1 and S2 deviations should satisfy condition S2< S1. With this condition satisfied, we may state that certified divider error will not exceed desired value (accuracy class a) in the range up to rated voltage. EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
