FIELD: nuclear power engineering; direct- action overtemperature shutdown systems for nuclear reactors and also overtemperature protective gear for chemical, process, and power equipment. SUBSTANCE: heat-sensing starting gear has hermetically sealed bellows filled with heat-sensing material and incorporating fixed end and moving end coupled with trigger mechanism. In initial state, flexible bellows is compressed through working travel distance and filled with heat-sensing material whose melting point corresponds to operating temperature of device. Heat-sensing material is characterized in that its volume increases during melting thereby affording working movement of bellows. Compressed spring placed inside bellows along its axis stretches bellows during melting of heat-sensing material by working travel distance. EFFECT: improved safety in operation and service life of nuclear power plants. 2 dwg
