FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fast neutron nuclear reactors shutdown systems. Device comprises two reservoirs inside hexagonal housing (1) geometrically identical to the housing of the fuel assembly. Upper sealed reservoir (2) is arranged above active zone (7) of the reactor and is filled with gaseous neutron absorber under pressure. Lower reservoir (6) is mainly arranged in active zone (7) of the reactor and is connected in its lower part (8) with heat carrier (9). Reservoirs (2) and (6) are connected to each other with at least one tube (3) with fuse (4), which is located in active zone (7) of the reactor. Between lower reservoir (6) housing and housing (1) of the device there is at least one tube (3) with fuse (4), which is arranged in the center of a hexagonal cell and is surrounded by six fuel elements (10). Neutron absorber used can be represented, for example, by 124Xe.
EFFECT: reduced inertia of the negative reactivity passive input device and higher reliability of its operation at increasing the temperature of the heat carrier in the reactor active zone above the preset limiting value.
