FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; production of charge for steel making. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading of oxide material in foundry mold and pouring of iron-containing melt into it. Foundry mold is used in form of ingot mold with H/D= 0.5-10.0, where H is ingot mold height and D is average in height reduced diameter. Melts is supplied with flow rate of 1-20 t/min. Upon completion of ingot mold filling with iron-containing melt, its surface is acted upon by force of 300-30,000 H/sq.m. Part of oxide material in the amount of 50-95% is introduced into ingot mold prior to pouring of iron-containing melt, and the remaining part is introduced upon completion of pouring of liquid melt on its surface, on which pressing force is acted upon.
