SUBSTANCE: invention relates to materials used in friction and brake devices of motor cars, tractors, air plains, etc. Particles of friction additives in friction material are placed inside solid grease envelope. Initial components are mixed in the following sequence: introduction into mixing apparatus and mixing of components of carrying metal substrate, introduction of pre-mixed friction additives with solid greases into mixing apparatus and final mixing. Before mixing, friction additives are wetted with easily evaporating or burning off under caking wetting reagent, for example, mineral oil. EFFECT: improved preparation procedure. 3 cl, 1 tbl
