FIELD: fiber optics. SUBSTANCE: fiber- optic device for measurement of current strength in a conductor with the use of the Faraday effect has systematically arranged a linearly polarized light source, first device for splitting the light beam, and optical fiber which envelops the conductor as a winding and has a mirror end surface, second device for splitting the light beam which is arranged in the path of the beam successively reflected from the mirror end surface of the optical fiber and from the first device for splitting the light beam, and two photodetectors installed at the outputs of the second device for splitting the light beam. A polarizer is placed between the second device for splitting the light beam and each photodetector. The optical axes of the polarizers are turned symmetrically to one another relative to the plane of polarization of light entered the optical fiber through an angle selected within 20 to 40 deg. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy. 2 dwg
