FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device comprises monochromatic light source, supply fibre, magnetooptical transducer, outlet fibre and recorder. Magnetooptical transducer comprises connector, one coil embracing current lead and adapter, all connected in series. Coil of magnetooptical transducer is made from single-mode optic fibre with one Verde constant. Adapter comprises encased sleeve, washer, polarisation film making an analyser, washer and sleeve. In compliance with second version, magnetooptical transducer is arranged on current lead and comprises encased sleeve, micro lens, polarisation film, Faraday cell, polarisation film, micro lens and sleeve. Faraday cell may be made from quartz, heavy flint or glass and features cylindrical shape. Single-mode semiconductor laser makes monochromatic light source in both versions.

EFFECT: expanded performances, reduced error in current measurements.
