FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical devices that use the Faraday effect to measure electric current. The proposed device contains a light source, a multimode fiber light guide, a polarizer, a Wollaston prism with a beam dilution angle of 2β, a quarter-wave plate, a magnetically sensitive element in the form of a glass prism located in the longitudinal magnetic field of an alternating current conductor. The glass prism contains the first and second polished bases. The second base serves as a mirror and contains two mirror surfaces inclined relative to the first base at angles β and forming an edge in the middle of the base perpendicular to the plane of dilution of the rays of the Wollaston prism. The transmission plane of the polarizer and the “fast” axis of the quarter-wave plate make up the angles ±45° with the planes of polarization of the rays coming out of the Wollaston prism. Next, a second polarizer, the transmission plane of which is 45° with respect to the first polarizer, a second multimode fiber light guide, a photodetector and an electronic unit are installed.
EFFECT: increase in sensitivity.
