FIELD: paint-and-varnish, petrochemical, gas production. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing thermal gas generator 1 into cavity of pipeline 6 by means of bar 3; supplying air and combustible through hoses 4,5 to thermal gas generator 1, starting it and simultaneously rotating pipeline 6 about its axis of rotation and longitudinal displacement of thermal gas generator 1 by bar 3. Thermal gas generator 1 generates supersonic gas stream 10, which is directed to surface 8 to be cleaned at an angle of 45 deg to pipeline axis and 45 deg to meridional plane. Sediments 7 are separated from surface 8 under the action of gas streams, partially burnt and carried away by gas flow.
