FIELD: glassware. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and building material industry, in particular, heat treatment of glassware with three- dimensional pattern including those of lead-containing glass having flat or cylindrical shape, treated with grinding dust or diamond tool on one or both sides and being applicable as light diffusers in manufacture of lighting fixture and other glassware for household, artistic, and technical destination. Heat treatment of glassware is conducted using heat flow beam with its single displacement along the glassware perimeter. Novelty consists in that, heat treatment is performed on the smooth side of glassware preliminarily entirely heated and confined with a backing on the three-dimensional pattern side, surface of backing facing glassware at least copying three- dimensional pattern, whereas the backing itself absorbs infrared rays which heat surface of backing and the latter, in turn, polish three- dimensional pattern surface via flow of heat.
