FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: to increase strength characteristics of automobile steel parts, they are subjected to heat treatment involving saturating surface layer of parts with carbon at 930-950 C followed by oil quenching and low-temperature drawing, additional high-temperature drawing, after which high-frequency current hardening and quenching in 5-10% aqueous solution of quenching fluid with emulsifying additives and subsequent low-temperature drawing are performed.
