FIELD: solid fuel production. SUBSTANCE: According to invention, coal slurry and/or coal fines are mixed with binder, mixture is dosed, packed with no special compacting procedure, and drying-solidification operation is combined with heating phase of packed briquets in combustion process directly in hearth or coking chamber. Method is intended for household application as well as for coke and metallurgical industries. EFFECT: simplified briquetting procedure.
