FIELD: solid fuel production. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to carbon-containing briquet fabrication technology which can be used for fabrication of coke and coal briquets and for agglomeration of coal sludges. Briquetting plant contains successively installed mixer with hopper for dozed delivery of heat treated ground carbon-containing material and binder-delivery means; briquet (e.g. roll) press; horizontal conveyor chamber for heat treatment of briquets with means for heat carrier supply and circulation through moving briquet layers installed in each of tightly interconnected horizontally disposed sections; rotatory drum to cool heat treated briquets inclined at angle 2-10 deg. to horizon and provided with hopper to deliver ground carbon- containing material to be heat treated and dried under agitation with hot briquets by means of pieces made on inner surface of drum with decreasing pitch in direction to hopper for discharging heat treated carbon-containing material and cooled briquets from drum into separator. The latter serves to separate final briquets from heat treated carbon-containing fine. A means to return this fine into mixer through hopper is also available.
