FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: proposed means comprises casing adapted to be inserted into lumen of vessel or hollow organ, and made in form of plate provided with slots. Plate is coiled in form of cylinder, plate thickness ranging from 0.03 to 0.2 mm. Slots have width within 0.5 to 2.0 mm, while distance between slots is from 0.5 to 2.0 mm. Proposed apparatus for restoring lumen of vessel or hollow organ comprises catheter, distal end of which carries balloon supporting said lumen maintaining means. Plate with slots is coiled around longitudinal axis of catheter together with balloon so as to form spiral which is fixed on balloon. Apparatus also comprises fixative intended to prevent movement of said lumen maintaining means along catheter axis, fixative being arranged coaxially at distal end of catheter near end of balloon.
