FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medical equipment, particularly media of blood vessel or hollow organ lumen restoration and/or maintenance (stents) in points affected by various pathological processes, particularly atherosclerosis, including cardiovascular disease treatment by intravascular prosthetic (stent) implantation. First version of medium of vessel or hollow organ lumen maintenance is a perforated cylindrical tube with figure cellular slits out of biocompatible material, with reduced diameter for insertion into vessel or hollow organ to stenosis area by balloon catheter. In expanded state, tube slits are made in the form of multiple rows of complex-shaped cells with a definite dependency of sides, allowing for diameter change without length change. In original state a cell has a complex form stretched along longitudinal axis of the medium. Two opposite facets of the figure are symmetrical against symmetry axis of the cell, one ends interconnected by curved facet, while second ends of each symmetrical facets are connected by a facet with straight ends and curve in the center. All symmetrical cell facets have S-shaped form. In expanded state, each cell is a tetrahedron of complex shape, symmetrical against transverse cell symmetry axis, the tetrahedron obtained by symmetrical facet twist aroung their central points close to points of connection to other facets by a value depending on diameter of stented vessel. In the second version, two opposite facets of the figure are symmetrical against transverse symmetry axis of the cell, one ends interconnected by Ω-shaped facet, while second ends of each symmetrical facets are connected by a facet with straight ends and Ω-shaped form in the center. In the third variant, two opposite facets of the figure are symmetrical against transverse symmetry axis of the cell, one ends interconnected by S-shaped facet, while second ends of each symmetrical facets are connected by a facet with straight ends and S-shaped form in the center.
EFFECT: enhanced stent flexibility in original state and firmness in expanded state, close and regular adherence of stent surface to vessel and expanding balloon surface, unchanged stent length in expansion process.
