FIELD: process and equipment for producing isotopes from fissionable materials for up-to-date medical diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: container has body with annular double walls, annular end plugs, and material to be irradiated which is placed between walls in annular space of body. Fissionable material, such as Uranium-235, is uniformly distributed throughout space of matrix made in the form of bushing placed in a spaced relation to inner surfaces of annular space of body; clearances formed there are filled with contact material; annular spaces are provided around both ends of bushing. Contact material filling clearances is magnesium; bushing is made of metal oxide, such as magnesium oxide. EFFECT: improved uniformity of fissional material distribution through space, improved heat transfer and volatile radionuclide retention conditions, improved safety in operation. 4 cl, 1 dwg
