CLUSTER ROLLING STAND Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: rolled stock production, namely reconstruction of operating rolling mills and development of new four-high rolling stands provided with small diameter rolls. SUBSTANCE: rolling stand includes frame and mounted on it supporting bodies with adjusting members. Backup and intermediate rolls are mounted in port of frame in respective chocks. Rolling rolls engage with intermediate rolls. Rolling rolls are hold in horizontal direction by means of side intermediate rolls supported by two rows of sectionized rollers mounted on rotary beams joined by means of axles with chocks of intermediate rolls. Additional supporting blocks are arranged between beams and supporting bodies with possibility of engaging with them. Blocks are kinematically connected with chocks of backup rolls by joint-type parallelogram. Adjusting members are mounted with possibility of engaging with supporting blocks. Supporting bodies are secured to frame outside width of its port. Chocks of backup rolls are U-shaped ones. Supporting bodies may be flush-mounted in frame relative to guiding surface of its port.
