FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing iron-ore concentrates with predetermined composition, to methods and machines for manufacturing ingots containing iron-ore concentrates and designed to be used as a constituent of charge when smelting steel in electrical furnaces and as cooling agent, instead of metal scrap, when smelting steel in converters. Material having appearance of iron-carbon granules exhibits magnetic properties and is made up of 15.0-30.0 wt % carbon and 0.5-12.0 wt % binder balanced with iron-ore concentrate. Ingot contains 15.0-30.0 wt % iron-carbon granules balanced with cast iron. Ingot weight ranges from 8 to 45 kg. Presented are also methods for preparing iron-carbon granules and ingots as well as structure of relevant machine. EFFECT: improved process parameters. 24 cl, 4 dwg, 2 tbl
