FIELD: spectral analysis. SUBSTANCE: DC arc discharge is used as first type of discharge with increased energy potential. It is used at stage of standardization at which some synthetic fumes are produced by evaporation of set of samples of powder materials of specified mass but different chemical composition in arc of direct current. Consumption of mass of sample of substance per time unit is fixed as well as evaporation of electrodes and consumption of air which is fume-forming medium. Then fume is guided into second discharge with decreased potential used as source of excitation of spectrum. Dependence of analytical signal on concentration of corresponding microimpurity in synthetic fume is established and by analytical signal corresponding to tested impurity value of its concentration is set providing identity of volume of tested fume per time unit to volume of synthetic fume taking into account temperature, atmospheric pressure and humidity of tested fume.
