FIELD: measurement technology; encoding analog video signals and high-frequency signals. SUBSTANCE: along with spatial sweep of radiator beam with reflecting edge of piezoceramic deflector by value proportional to change in amplitude of encoded signal, sampling of light signal obtained followed by its conversion into electric signal and its presentation in digital form, circular sweep of beam is also performed using additional edge of piezoceramic deflector; in the process, circle radius is proportional to change in encoded signal amplitude; optical signal is sampled in radial planes, digital code capacity corresponds to number of sampling levels. Conversion frequency can be increased as many times as there are sampling bars scanning within single revolution of beam, that is, ten times and more. Device implementing this method has input voltage Divider, amplifier, circular sweep unit, two piezoceramic deflectors, sampling unit built up of 20 sampling bars of light conductors radially arranged and spaced 18 deg, apart, photodetector unit, and encoder unit incorporating as many encoders as there are light conductor bars. EFFECT: improved conversion frequency. 2 cl, 2 dwg
