FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: new method of synthesis of 2-allylhydroxyethanol is carried out by interaction of allyl alcohol and ethylene oxide. Reaction is carried out at 90-125 C for 0.5-1.5 h at mole ratio of allyl alcohol and ethylene oxide = (1-4.5):1, respectively. Zeocar-2 is used as catalyst. Catalyst shows the following parameters: specific pore volume is 0.5 x I0-3 m3/kg, composition, wt.-%: SiO2 83.5; AL2O3 10.0; rare-earth element oxides 2.5, and concomitants - the rest. Catalyst content in reaction mass is 1-10%. After reaction termination the reaction mass is filtered off from catalyst and subjected for rectification. Synthesized compound is used for synthesis of chemical-pharmaceutical preparations. EFFECT: enhanced selectivity, decreased waste formation, improved economy indices. 1 tbl
