FIELD: continuous pouring of metals between rolls-crystallizers. SUBSTANCE: method involves generating first vertical AC, DC or induced horizontal current magnetic field at zone adjacent to open side of roll gap, with AC or DC current running through coil surrounding core of first electromagnet and induced current through roll drives, roll branch pipes and edge of molten metal. As a result at least one additional vertical magnetic field is created to concentrate and/or form first magnetic field. Vertical magnetic fields interact to generate magnetic forces sufficient for holding molten metal in vertical gap between rolls. First magnetic field as well as at least one additional or secondary vertical magnetic field spread through open side of gap in the direction of molten metal in gap. Combination of magnetic fields is coordinated to provide penetration of sufficient electromagnetic force through depth and adjacent to side of molten metal for electromagnetic holding of molten metal in gap between rolls and for stabilization of molten metal at side. EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified method. 78 cl, 12 dwg, 5 tbl
