FIELD: nuclear medicine for therapeutic purposes, research engineering, and process control. SUBSTANCE: rhenium-188 generator is produced as follows: after metal tungsten target is irradiated, it is dissolved in hydrogen peroxide. Tungsten peroxide solution is alkalized to pH=10-12, then cleaned from radionuclide impurities by passing alkali solutions through column filled with aluminium oxide treated just before use with 0.01-0.1 h alkali solution and acidified with hydrochloric acid solution. Then tungsten is transferred to die containing tungsten-188 by sorption on aluminium oxide in H+ form under transient or static conditions followed by transfer to column with aluminium oxide filtering layer in H+ form; rhenium-188 is eluted by solution of sodium salts. EFFECT: high radionuclide purity and volume activity of target radionuclide. 4 tbl
