FIELD: nuclear medicine for therapeutic purposes, research studies, and process control. SUBSTANCE: rhenium-188 generator is produced as follows: tungsten oxide target is irradiated by neutrons and dissolved in alkali. Nondissolved sediment is dissolved in hydrogen peroxide. Solution obtained is alkalized to pH=12-14. Alkali solution is cleaned by passing it through column with aluminium oxide in OH- form and acidified with hydrochloric acid solution. Then tungsten-188 is transferred to die by sorption on aluminium oxide in H+ form under transient conditions or under static condition with die carried to column with filtering layer of aluminium oxide in H+ form. Rhenium-188 is eluted by solutions of sodium salts. EFFECT: improved radionuclide purity and volume activity of target radionuclide. 3 tbl
